Though extraction is never our first choice, there are several reasons for tooth removal. Severe tooth decay is the most common motivation for tooth extraction. If you are experiencing severe pain, or you have a tooth that is so severely decayed that the structure of the tooth has been eroded, we can very often offer relief to our patients with a dental extraction, especially if the tooth cannot be restored by other dental means. If you have any concerns about the extraction, we can help you relax with sedation.

Wisdom teeth removal is one of the most common extractions we perform, especially if they have become impacted. Although impacted molars may not seem to be a serious condition, impacted and partially impacted teeth can lead to problems. Impacted teeth are often quite painful and can lead to infection, crowding and damage of adjacent teeth or roots. If a cyst forms around the roots of the impacted tooth, it could cause permanent damage.
